WELLSBORO'S HOPRICH, CANTON'S McROBERTS, CORNING'S SMITH NAMED ZIFF LAW FIRM GIRLS REGIONAL "ATHLETES OF THE WEEK"Hoprich
defender her 2025 District 4 titles by winning both the 100-meter dash
(12.17 seconds) and the 200-meter dash (25.22 seconds).
She also added a state-qualifying time in Wellsboro's third-place finish in the 400-meter relay.
McRoberts won gold medals in the discus and shot put at the District 4 meet, setting new district records in both events.
McRoberts topped 40 feet in the shot put and exceeded 130 feet in the discus.
In the STAC semifinals, Smith tossed a 3-hitter with 10 strikeouts to lead Corning to a 7-0 win over Waverly.
Earlier
in the week, she hit home runs in back-to-back wins over Union-Endicott
and Maine-Endwell. On the week, she had hits in all four games she
played, and had two home runs, five RBI and four runs scored.

Field Championships, and also qualified for States in the 1,600-meter
run.
