NTL BASEBALL: TROY BASEBALL FALLS TO SOUTH WILLIAMSPORT (2021-04-26)

SOUTH WILLIAMSPORT — Despite showing off some power, Troy fell to South Williamsport 12-2 in non-league baseball action Monday.

The Mounties led 2-0 after the second, then used a 4-run fourth, and 5-run sixth to get the win in six innings.

Morgan Madigan (1-for-3) was one bright spot for Troy, hitting a solo home run, while Justice Chimics (1-for-3) had a double. Kory Schucker (1-for-3) also had a hit, with an RBI.

Evan Short took the loss, going five innings to strikeout two with five walks, five hits, and nine runs, five of which were earned.

Lenny Reed went one-third of an inning, striking out one with four walks, one hit and three earned runs.

Landon Lorson struck 13 to get the win for South.

Down 6-0 in the top of the fifth Madigan hit a first pitch lead-off home run to get the Trojans on the scoreboard.

South got the run back in the bottom half of the inning, making it 7-1 in the sixth, when Chimics hit a 2-out double. Schucker than brought him in with a single to cut it to 7-2.

South, though, went on to score five runs in the bottom half of the inning to end the game.

Troy will travel to Canton on Wednesday with a 4:30 p.m. start.
