NTL BOYS' TRACK & FIELD: TOWANDA GETS WINS OVER CANTON, MCS (2021-04-27)

TOWANDA — The Towanda boys picked up two wins in track and field action Tuesday. They defeated Canton 86-63, and topped Meadowbrook Christian School 126-24; Canton beat MCS 98-45.

In the dual meet between Canton, and Towanda, the Knights went 1-2-3 in the pole vault with Cody Griffith (9-feet), Mitchell Mosier (9-feet), and Nick Place (8-feet, 6-inches).


Towanda went 1-2 in the 100 with John Schoonover (11.6), and Ryan West (11.7), as Canton’s Connor Foust (11.9) was third.


Canton’s Caiden Williams (104-feet, 3-inches) won the discus, as Towanda’s Mike West (97-feet, 4-inches) was second, and Warrior Anthony Asbury (96-feet) came in third.


Towanda swept the 110 hurdles with Logan Lambert (18.4), Elias Schrader (19.8), and Place (20.5).


Canton’s Michael Skipper (2:27.6) won the 800, with Towanda’s Joey Weinman (2:29.9) second, and Dominick Espisito (2:38.3) third.


Mosier (5-feet, 6-inches) won the high jump, with Williams (5-feet, 4-inches) second, and place (5-feet) third.


Canton’s 4x400 relay won in 3:47.2


Canton went 1-2 in the shot put with Williams (39-feet, 5-inches), and Derek Atherton-Ely (37-feet, 10-inches), as Towanda’s Jared Gunther (37-feet, 3 1/2-inches) was third.


Lambert (48.0) won the 300 hurdles, followed by Canton’s Mason Shultz (49.2), and Shrawder (50.9).


Towanda won the 4x800 relay in 9:50.9.


Knight Eric McGee (5:25.6) won the 1600, as Canton’s Dylan Smith (6:11.4), and Towanda’s Nathan Spencer (6:13.5) were second, and third.


Lambert (38-feet 1 1/4-inches) won the triple jump, with Williams (36-feet 10 3/4-inches) second, and Towanda’s Jarayke Worthington (33-feet, 5 1/2-inches) third.


Towanda’s 4x100 relay won in 47.1.


Atherton-Ely (126-feet, 11-inches) won the javelin, followed by Towanda’s Logan Anderson (122-feet, 5-inches), and Schoonover (111-feet, 3-inches).


Canton’s Isaiah Niemczyk (56.2) won the 400, followed by Knight Justin Schoonover (57.9), and Towanda’s Dillon Gallagher (1:00.1).


Niemczyk (25.1) won the 200, with Justin Schoonover (25.1) second, and Gallagher (25.2) third.


Canton’s Hunter Huffman (14:24.5) beat out Spencer (14:33.1) to win the 3200.


Foust (17-feet, 6-inches) won the long jump, with Mosier (17-feet, 2-inches) second, and Niemczyk (16-feet, 11 1/2-inches) third.
