NTL BASEBALL: TOWANDA FALLS TO ATHENS (2021-04-30)

WYSOX — Athens scored in every inning as they defeated Towanda 21-4 in four innings during NTL baseball action Friday.

The Wildcats built an 8-0 lead after three innings, then scored 13 in the top of the fourth. Towanda would get four runs back in the bottom half of the inning.


Chase Parker (2-for-2), and Alex Bowman (2-for-2), both had multi-hit games for the Knights, along with scoring a run a piece.


Octavious Chacona (1-for-2), Haven Fee (1-for-2), and Mason Johnson (1-for-2) also had hits. Chacona and Johnson both scored and had an RBI, as Fee knocked in two runs.


Ethan Sparrow started, and went 1 1/3-innings to get the loss. He struck out two with three hits, three walks, and five runs, four of them earned.


Will Pitcher tossed the next 2 1/3-innings, striking out three with seven walks, one hit, and 11 runs, three of which were earned.


Garrett Chapman pitched the final third, striking outdone with one walk, two hits, and five unearned runs.


Down 21-0 in the bottom of the fourth Towanda led off the at bat with four straight hits. Parker, and Bowman both singled to put two runners on, then Chacona singled in Parker. Johnson then singled in Bowman for their second run.


After an out Fee singled in Chacona and Johnson for their final two runs.


The Knights are at Wyalusing on Monday.
