MU'S ROBBINS 5TH AT NATIONALS (2021-06-02)

Northeast Bradford graduate Rob Robbins recently earned first team All-American status for Mansfield University after taking fifth in the men’s javelin throw at the NCAA Division-II Outdoor Track and Field Championships over the weekend.

Robbins top throw was 70.42 meters, which improved upon his Mountie record. He hit that mark in the second flight, which pushed him into the finals.

He entered the finals in second place, but wasn’t able to best the big throw. He ultimately fell to fifth during the final round.

Robbins is the 22nd All-American in program history. The last MU javelin thrower to make All-American was Hunter Watkins in 2017, when he finished 12th. The last MU first team All-American was Mike Robinson in 2014.
