LITTLE LEAGUE: TOWANDA PULLS AWAY FROM NEBALL (2021-06-23)

WARREN CENTER — Towanda started and finished strong as they defeated NEBall 22-6 in District 15 Minors baseball Little League action Wednesday.

Towanda jumped out to a 5-1 first inning lead, then kept tacking on runs to go up 14-1. A 5-run bottom fifth by NEBall kept the game going, but Towanda finished things off with a 9-run sixth.


Blayke Spencer scored four times to lead Towanda, as Rylan Cook, Drew Maghamez, and Gabe Wolf scored three times each. Harper Welles, Nolan Tuttle, and Jason Wickwire all scored twice, as Wyatt Jones, Hunter Monahan, and Ashton Vischansky all crossed home once.


Calin Beebe, Will Chappell, Josiah Russell, Asher Kolesar, Eliot Murray, and Will Kapr all scored for NEB.


Both teams move on to bracket play, with NEBall travel to Tunkhannock on Friday, while Towanda is at Blue Ridge on Saturday.


Towanda lost to Athens earlier in the week 2-1.


Jones scored their lone run, while also getting two hits in the game.
