AAU SOFTBALL: LADY REBELS TAKE HOME TITLE FROM COOPERSTOWN TOURNAMENT (2021-06-27)

COOPERSTOWN — Lady Rebels’ Madi Palmer celebrated her 14th birthday in style on Sunday, as the Troy softball player helped her team to win the 2021 Summer Classic 14U title at Cooperstown.

They beat RedStorm 6-2 in the title game, scoring runs in four of their five at bats.

Palmer had an RBI in the game, drawing a walk in the second inning to score the first run of the game. The Rebels would lead 3-0 after the third when the RedStorm used a home run to cut it to 3-2.

After that the Rebels scored three unanswered runs to win.

Earlier in the day they beat the Utica Lady Comets 6-4 in the semifinals.

They started things on Friday with a 4-1 win over RedStorm, then on Saturday they beat Sportszone 16-3, and the Lady Comets 17-4.

During the Saturday games Palmer went 4-for-6 with two triples, a double, 4-RBI and four runs scored.
