AAU SOFTBALL: BC PRIDE GO 3-2 AT TENNESSEE TOURNAMENT (2021-06-29)

PIGEON FORGE — The BC Pride went 3-2 at the Wounded Veterans Tournament in Tennessee this past weekend.

They went 2-0 on the first day, earning the top seed in the 16/18 Gold bracket. After winning their quarterfinal game, they lost in the semifinals to drop to the loser’s bracket, where they fell there, too.


The first two games were slug fest for the Pride, as they beat the Kentucky Liberty 8-0, and the Ohio Power 8-0.


Against Kentucky Thailey Franklin went 3-for-3 with a double, and a run scored, while Brea Overpeck had a home run.


Kayleigh Thoman had a hit with three runs scored, as Keri Wesneski also had a hit with a run scored. Mae Kinner added a hit, while Molly Ward, and Allyson Butcher both crossed home.


Franklin tosses a 1-hit shutout during the contest, striking out six in four innings.


In the win over the Power six different players recorded hits, as Butcher had a double with a run scored.


Thoman had a hit with two runs scored, while Franklin, Wesneski, Allie Liddick, and Rylin Graham each had a hit with a run scored. Kinner also crossed home.


Franklin struck out seven and again allowed just a hit in the shutout win.


In the first game of bracket play it was Franklin getting the 2-RBI, walk-off hit for the 4-3 win over the Flash. 


Liddick had a triple with a run scored, as Thoman also had a hit with a run scored. Kinner, and Graham both scored as well.


Franklin struck out 13, and allowed just two hits.


In the next round they lost to the Explosion 7-2. Overpeck had a double, with a run scored, as Butcher and Franklin also had hits. Butcher scored a run.


Franklin struck out four in the loss.


In their final game they lost to the Fury 6-3.


Thoman, Franklin, and Ward all had a hit with a run scored, while Wesneski, and Kinner each had a hit. 


Wesneski took to the circle, and struck out four.


They will be at the Fury Tournament this weekend, up at Holding Point.
