LITTLE LEAGUE: RTL PULLS AWAY FROM SUSQUEHANNA COUNTY TO STAY ALIVE (2021-06-29)

WYALUSING — RTL was able to stay alive in District 15 Major softball action Tuesday, as they rode pitcher Addison Fluck to a 17-4 in five innings win over Susquehanna County in loser’s bracket action.

With the win RTL now has to beat Tunkhannock twice to win the title, beginning on Thursday on the road.

RTL would build a 4-1 lead after the first two innings, but Susquehanna came back, tying the game in the top of the third 4-4.

It was all RTL after that, scoring 13 unanswered runs, and shut the door with a 9-run fifth inning.

Kylie Carpenter had three hits on the day, including a double, with a run scored, and 2-RBI, with Jesse Ferris adding two hits, including a triple, two runs scored, and 3-RBI.

Lynsie Munkittrick had two doubles with a run scored on the day, while Alyssa Carter had a double, a run scored, and an RBI.

Lead-off batter Brylee Bailey had a hit, with four runs, and an RBI, as Fluck had a hit with two runs.

Maddy Broschart had a hit with two runs, and an RBI, while Peyton Rider, Charlotte Sites, Emily Jones, and Chloe Whipple each scored runs.

Fluck was dominant in the circle, as she was responsible for 14 of her team’s 15 outs with strikeouts. The only other out was a ground ball to first base.
