NTL CROSS-COUNTRY: TOWANDA BOYS SWEEP LEAGUE MEET (2020-09-22)

LITCHFIELD — Towanda boys’ cross-country pulled out two league wins on Tuesday.

The Knights defeated NP-Mansfield 23-34 and Sayre 15-50.

They took five of the top eight spots led by Jaden Wise (20:38) and Eric McGee (20:38.7) in second and third.

Luke Tavani (21:57) was fifth, Nathan Spencer (23:18) came in sixth and Rein Alderfer (23:21) eighth to round out their top five.

NP-Mansfield’s Noah Shedden (17:50) won the race with teammate Kadyn Moon (21:56) also in the top five in fourth.

Sayre’s top runner, Nate Romano (23:19), was seventh.

In the varsity girls’ meet NP-Mansfield topped Towanda 20-35 but the Knights defeated Sayre 15-50.

Towanda’s Eliza Fowler (24:55) was second as teammate Taylor Brennan (28:47) came in eighth.

Rounding out the Knights’ top five were Madison Nonemacher (28:52) in ninth, Jillian Packard (29:36) in 10th and MaKenna Schaffer (29:46) in 12th.

Sayre’s Carrie Claypool (23:29) won the race.

For NPM, they went 3-through-7, led by Grace Farrer (26:45), Addison Farrer (26:47) and Ella Farrer (26:48). Brianna Wilson (26:49) and Madalyn Farrer (26:56) rounded out their top five.

Towanda’s Jack Tavani (11:32) won the boys’ junior high race with fellow Knight Marissa Wise (12:05) taking the girls’ race.
