NYPENN GIRLS' SOCCER: GORSLINE, SIMWALE GET HAT TRICKS IN WIN OVER ROSS CORNERS (2021-10-23)
Northern Tier Sports ReportROME — A short-handed North Rome Christian School girls’ soccer team defeated Ross Corners 6-0 in NYPenn girls’ action Friday.
Despite having just nine girls they were able to pull out the win, as Kara Simwale and Elizabeth Gorsline each had a hat trick. Simwale also had two assists with Rose Glantz, and Gorsline both getting helpers.
NRCS had a 37-7 edge in shots on goal as Cara Glantz made six saves for the clean sheet.
Simwale started the scoring just over two minutes into the contest, then Gorsline made it 2-0 at the 24:25 mark. Simwale then found Gorsline to make it 3-0 just before the half.
Simwale then had back to back goals early in the second half off assists from Gorsline and Glantz to make it 5-0.
Gorsline then added the final goal off a Simwale helper with just under 12 minutes left to play.
Monday is senior high for NRCS as they’ll play their final game at Towanda’s Endless Mountains Stadium.
