NTL GIRLS' BASKETBALL: TROY ROLLS PAST SAYRE (2022-01-26)

SAYRE — Troy jumped out to a 16-4 lead in the first quarter and never looked back as they defeated Sayre 35-15 in NTL girls’ basketball action Wednesday.

Alyssa Parks had 14 points to lead the Trojans, while Sydney Taylor added five points and four rebounds.

Katie Lackey had three points, while Ella VanNoy, Rachel Kingsley, Sarah Chamberlain, Maddie Seeley, Kendall Allen, and Lydia Lewis had two points apiece. Kingsley also grabbed 12 boards as Allen had four rebounds.

Kailyn Sterling chipped in with one point and five rebounds.

Parks was hot early for the Trojans, netting eight points - including two 3-balls - in their 12 point first quarter lead. In the second she had four points to help Troy take a 24-6 lead at the half.

In the third Lackey and Taylor both had threes as Troy held Sayre scoreless to go up 32-6.

The Trojans have a big NTL showdown on Friday with Northeast Bradford coming to the Commons Building.
