NTL BOYS' BASKETBALL: BALANCED SCORING LEADS CANTON PAST WILLIAMSON (2022-01-27)

Northern Tier Sports Report
TIOGA JUNCTION — Canton saw four players hit double figures as they rolled past Williamson, 65-34, in NTL boys’ basketball action Thursday.

Isaiah Niemczyk and Caiden Williams had 14 points apiece to lead Canton, while Cooper Kitchen netted 13 - with three 3-balls - and Weston Bellows had 12.

Gavin Morse scored six, Austin Allen finished with four, and Kyle Kapichok added two.

Canton was playing without starting point guard Conner Foust.

Canton jumped out early with 18 first quarter points behind eight from Williams to take an eight point lead. They then separated themselves in the second, out scoring Williamson 18-3, behind seven from Niemczyk, to go up 36-13 at the break.

In the third it was Kitchen’s turn, scoring eight on points, to lead Canton to a game high 21 in the quarter as they took a 57-30 lead after three.

With Wyalusing losing to Wellsboro it keeps the door open for Canton to get the NTL Division-II title. They’re now one game behind the Rams in the loss column, and will travel there during the next round of divisional games.

However, they will host Sayre next Wednesday first.
