NTL SWIMMING & DIVING: TOWANDA SWIMMERS HAVE A FEW BRIGHT SPOTS IN TOUGH SEASON (2022-03-27)

Despite being small in numbers Towanda had a few bright spots during their swimming season.

Leading the way was Towanda’s Juliana Varner. She took home a bronze at the District IV Championships in the 50 free. She earned earned a 50 free title at the Keep the Beat Invitational at Elk Lake, while taking second in the 100 free. At the Tunkhannock Invitational she took fifth in the 50 free.


The other girls on the team - Marisa Wise, Zoie Lamphere, Noelle Rogers, and Rylee Martin - all had strong seasons.


On the boys’ side the highlight of the season was their 57-51 win over Jersey Shore despite having just five swimmers.


Luke Tavani and Nate Spencer both brought home top 10 finishes at the District IV Championships. Other swimmers Alex Lantz, Sean Lauber, and Eric McGee also had good performances during the season.
