ON TAP TODAY: FIVE BASEBALL/SOFTBALL GAMES ON THE DOCKET (2022-05-17)

Northern Tier Sports Report
A busy day planned with five games on the docket, and some playoff situations still to be decided.

SOFTBALL

Canton (15-4) at Millville (8-8), 4:30 p.m.: With a win, and a little help, the Warriors could potentially climb all the way up to the 2-seed, but at the moment they’re still the five, meaning they would have to hit the road for the first round of the playoffs. The Quakers need to win one of their final two games to get in.

Troy (5-10) at Sayre (0-16), 4:30 p.m.: The Trojans will look to end the season on a high note as they travel to Sayre, who’s still searching for their first win.

Towanda (5-13) at Blue Ridge, 4:30 p.m.: One of their final two games left, the Knights will hit the road for one last time this season.

BASEBALL

Troy (6-11) at Sayre (17-2), 4:30 p.m.: The final league game for both teams. The Trojans gave Sayre a scare last year, taking them to extra innings in a loss. A win here would push Sayre past Wyalusing, and to the top spot in the District IV, Class AA standings.

Towanda (2-16) at CV (9-9), 4:30 p.m.: The Knights have two games left, and this is their last road one. A win here would guarantee a playoff spot for CV, though, by virtue of being top two, they pretty much have a spot sealed up.
