NTL BASEBALL: TOWANDA FALLS ON THE ROAD TO CV (2022-05-17)

WESTFIELD — CV scored a run in every inning as they defeated Towanda 11-1 in six innings during NTL baseball action Tuesday.

The Knights got their run in the top of the first, but the Indians came back and scored two in the bottom half of the inning. CV would notch four in the second, one in the third, fourth, and fifth, and finish out with two runs in the sixth.

Riley Vanderpool (2-for-3) led the Knights at the plate, as Chase Parker (1-for-2) had a double. Alex Bowman (1-for-2), and Garrett Chapman (1-for-3) also had hits, as Jack Wheaton scored a run, as Dawson Butts notched an RBI.

Chapman took the loss, going four innings to strikeout three with three walks, eight hits, and eight runs, five of which were earned.

Parker pitched the next 1 1/3-innings, with two strikeouts, four walks, three hits, and three runs, one of which was earned.

Wheaton led the game off with a walk, then, after a strikeout, Parker walked, followed by Bowman getting hit by a pitch to load the bases. Butts then drew a walk to bring in Wheaton. CV would get back to back outs after that to end the threat.

Towanda loaded the bases with one out again in the fourth, but weren’t able to push anybody across.
