NTL TRACK & FIELD: CANTON'S WILLIAMS JUST MISSES MEDALS IN SHOT PUT AT D4 T&F CHAMPIONSHIPS (2022-05-20)

WILLIAMSPORT — Caiden Williams was the top Canton performer during the first day of the District IV, Class AA Track and Field Championships on Thursday.

Williams was ninth in the shot put at 43-feet, as the top eight get on the podium. 


His last attempt in the flight got him into the finals, but he couldn’t improve his standing from there. Teammate William Colton was 20th in the shot put at 39-feet, 4 1/4-inches.


In the long jump Isaiah Niemczyk (18-feet, 11 1/4-inches) was 16th, as Williams (18-feet, 1 1/2-inches) came in 21st.


On the girls’ side the 4x800 relay of Laci Niemczyk, Kali Wesneski, Camille McRobert, and Kendall Kitchen took 11th in 11:01.15. Kitchen was 20th in the long jump at 13-feet, 3 1/2-inches.


The District IV Championships will conclude on Saturday back at Williamsport High School with a 9 a.m. start time.
