NTL TRACK & FIELD: TROY'S HAGIN TAKES THIRD IN LONG JUMP, JUST MISSING STATE BERTH (2022-05-20)

WILLIAMSPORT — It was a strong first day for the Troy track and field team during the first day of the District IV Track and Field Championships Thursday.

Dustin Hagin nearly made states in the long jump, taking third in 21-feet, 2-inches, just a few inches off the state qualifying mark.


Troy’s Mason Imbt also reached the podium, taking eighth in the shot put at 43-feet, 10 1/4-inches. His third throw during the flights is what got him on the podium.


Hagin also breezed through the 110 hurdle trials, taking third in the preliminaries at 15.81, and second in the semifinals in 15.29.


Anneliese Getola breezed through the 100 trials, for the girls. She came in as the top seed, and held her spot, taking first in the preliminaries in 12.86, and first during the semifinals at 12.79.


Both will be in the finals on Saturday, with the meet picking up at 9 a.m.


Also in the girls’ 100 Caelyn Pine was 16th in 13.83, while she took 21st in the long jump at 13-feet, 3 1/4-inches.


The girls’ 4x800 relay of Emma Colton, Lilly DePew, Sydney Taylor, and Julia Colton finished 16th in 11:34.01.


On the boys’ side Colin Loveland (19-feet, 10 3/4-inches) was 10th in the long jump, while Blake Shedden (17.11) took 14th during the 110 hurdle preliminaries.


The 4x800 relay of Jacob Hinman, Hart Houseknecht, Brayden Spalding, and Seth Seymour finished 15th at 9:07.66.
