NTL TRACK & FIELD: SEVERAL NTL ATHLETES HAVE HIGH SEEDS AT THE PIAA CHAMPIONSHIPS (2022-05-22)
Northern Tier Sports ReportThe PIAA Track and Field Championship performance lists are out, and several NTL athletes are near the top.
GIRLS
Towanda’s Porschia Bennett is the top seed at 5-feet, 8-inches, four inches over her next closest competition. If she hits 5-feet, 8-inches she’ll make the NFHS Honor Roll, while the PIAA record is 5-feet, 10-inches, set all the way back in 1979.
Staying with Towanda, their 4x400 relay is seeded fifth at 4:08.40, with Lewisburg (4:03.25), and Central Columbia (4:05.74) the top two seeds.
Troy’s Anneliese Getola (12.61) is the fifth seed going into the 100 preliminaries, while in the 400 Wyalusing’s Olivia Haley (59.51) and Towanda’s Anna Dunn (59.69) are seeded seventh and eighth.
NEB’s Gracelyn Laudermilch is seeded 13th in 11:36.74.
In the field Bennett is seeded 18th in the long jump at 16-feet, 9 1/2-inches.
BOYS
On the boys’ side Williamson (8:11.30) is the second seed in the 4x800 relay, behind top seed Hughesville (8:00.16). Hagin is seeded third in the triple jump at 44-feet, 6 1/4-inches.
Troy’s Dustin Hagin is the fourth seed in the 110 hurdles (15.01), with Southern Columbia’s Jake Rose (14.00) the top seed.
Williamson’s Owen Cummings is the sixth seed in the 1600 in 4:25.49, with Kristian Mizdail (4:28.99) the ninth seed. Mizdail (9:36.38) is the fourth seed in the 3200.
Williamson’s Elias Kaufman (51.66) is the 16th seed in the 400.
Wyalusing’s Kashawn Cameron (21-feet, 5 1/2-inches) is ranked 11th going into the long jump.
NEB’s Daniel Seeley (152-feet, 1-inch) is seeded sixth in the discus.
