LITTLE LEAGUE: CANTON SOFTBALL MINORS FALL AT SUSQUEHANNA (2022-06-26)

Canton led early, but the undefeated Susquehanna County minor all-star softball team pulled out a 14-8 win during bracket play Sunday.

Canton led 5-4 after the second inning, but Susquehanna out scored them 10-0 over the next three innings to go up 14-5. Canton would rally in the sixth with three runs for a 14-8 final.

Layla Deming went 2-for-3 with a double and a run scored, while Aryana Marshall was 2-for-3 with 3-RBI and a run scored. LindleySechrist went 1-for-3 with a double, a run scored, and an RBI, Haleigh Shultz went 1-for-2 with a double, a run scored, and an RBI.

Raya Preston was 1-for-4 with a run scored, and an RBI, and Amelia Pepper went 1-for-3 with a run scored.

Mercedes Ray, and Evelyn Bellows both scored runs, as Peyton Taylor drove in a run.

Preston went the first 4 1/3-innings with six strikeouts, while Sechrist pitched the final two-thirds with one strikeout.

Canton falls into the consolation bracket, and they’ll play the winner of Towanda and Wellsboro on Tuesday.
