LITTLE LEAGUE: TROY FALLS TO SUSQUEHANNA (2022-06-30)

TROY — Two bad innings hurt Troy as they fell to Susquehanna 8-3 during minors softball all-star bracket play action on Thursday.

Susquehanna used a 4-run bottom first to take a big lead, but Troy chipped away, scoring a run in the second, and two in the third to cut it to 4-3.

Susquehanna then added four more in the bottom of the third to go up 8-3, then held Troy scoreless for three straight innings.

Blakelee Brown went 2-for-3 with a double, an RBI, and a run scored for Troy, while also pitching the first three innings to strikeout seven.

Ally Allen went 1-for-2 with an RBI, while Madison Morgan was 1-for-3. Lily Weaver and Gracie Pepper both scored runs.

Jordyn Sheeley pitched the final two innings, striking out three.

After finding themselves down 4-0, Troy got on the scoreboard as Pepper drew a walk. After stealing her way to third she scored on an Allen single.

In the third Weaver drew a 1-out walk, and later scored on a Brown hit. Brown would score later in the inning on a passed ball to make it a 1-run game.

Troy will now take on NEBall, who defeated Canton in the consolation bracket, next Wednesday.
