LADY LIGHTNING BLUE GO 1-2 DURING FIRST DAY OF TOURNAMENT (2022-07-03)

Northern Tier Sports Report
HORSEHEADS — The Lady Lightning Blue went 1-2 at the first day of the FURYous 2022 Summer Softball Tournament for 14U on Saturday.

They lost to the Conklin Raiders 4-1, beat Smash IT Sports 11-2, then lost to the Orchard Park Starz 11-2.


Against the Raiders Kynlee Kunkle went 2-for-2 with a run scored, while Kelsea Moore and Hannah Berger each had hits, with Berger’s a double. Berger also had an RBI.


Makenna Callear went the first two innings, striking out two with two walks, seven hits, and four runs earned. Kiarra DeLancey went the final two innings, walking two.


Against Smash IT Berger (1-for-2) had a home run with 3-RBI, and two runs scored, while Ashlyn Neiley went 2-for-3 with a double, and two runs scored.


Callear went 1-for-2 with a double, a run scored, and an RBI, while Moore went 1-for-2 with a double and two runs scored. Olivia Thompson was 2-for-2 with an RBI, and a run scored, while Toni Herb went 1-for-2 with a run scored, and an rBI.


DeLancey was 1-for-3 with an RBI, Savannah Finan was 1-for-2 with a run scored, and Kunkle also scored a run.


Moore went the distance, striking out eight with four walks, two hits, and two runs, one of which was earned.


In the final game Neiley went 2-for-2 with a double, and two runs scored, while Thompson was 1-for-2 with a double. Berger had a hit with an RBI, as Moore was 1-for-1 and Herb went 1-for-2.


Callear started and went two innings with five hits, and four earned runs. Moore pitched two innings, with two strikeouts, two hits, and one earned run. DeLancey went the final inning, with one walk, eight hits, and six earned runs.


The Lady Lightning get the Lady Rebels on Sunday with a 10 a.m. start.
