NTL BOYS' BASKETBALL: HOT SHOOTING TROY ROLLS PAST BENTON IN SEASON OPENER (2022-12-03)

TROY — Troy got off to a hot start and never looked back as they defeated Benton 80-29 during non-league boys’ basketball action Friday.

The Trojans led 31-3 after the first quarter as they hit seven three-pointers in the frame. Their lead ballooned up to 49-8 at the half as they never looked back.

Evan Woodward led Troy with 22 points, including six 3-pointers, while adding three assists, and two steals.

Justice Chimics finished with 16 points, two assists, and two steals, while Lance Heasley had 12 points, seven boards, and two steals.

Jake Burbage added eight points, 13 rebounds, four assists, and three steals, with Lincoln Chimics getting eight points, and two steals.

Joseph Frye finished with five points, Colin Loveland had four points to go with five boards, as Eason Teribury netted four points, too. Jackson Taylor chipped in with one point.

The Trojans will host NEB on Wednesday.
