Northern Tier Sports Report
MILLVILLE — After squeaking out of the first round on Friday, Northeast Bradford rolled past Millville, 60-28, on Saturday to claim the Millville Girls’ Basketball Title for the second year in a row.

The Panthers jumped out to a 33-9 lead en route to the win.

“I am so proud of my team,” said Tournament MVP Kayleigh Thoman. “We have put so much work and dedication into this season all ready, and it just really paid off. I couldn’t be happier with any other groups of girls. Our first game didn’t go as planned so we pulled ourselves together, and came together more as a team, and it really paid off. We came out stronger than ever.”

Thoman finished with 13 points, four boards, three assists, and two steals in the win.

“I am very proud of myself for getting the MVP award,” she said. “I try to keep my head up all the time, and push myself to the best that I can be for the team. I am so thankful I have a team behind me like I do. I couldn’t be any happier about this weekend, it was a blast.”

Alena Beebe had 10 points, and was named the team MVP.

The Panthers used a strong defense, generating 14 steals on the Quakers.

“Our defense was perfect, and so was our offense,” said Thoman. “I couldn’t be any prouder. I am so glad our coaches push us hard because it really pays off in the end.”

Becca VanDeMark added eight points, while Leah Beebe had eight points, to go with five assists.

Emma Neuber notched seven points, five steals, and four boards, as Lani Thomas had six points, seven rebounds, and two steals.

Kate O’Connor notched four points with seven rebounds, as Lillie Maynard had two points and three rebounds. Abby O’Connor finished with two points, while Lilah Hughes had three boards, and Anna Towner finished with two steals.

The NEB JV team won 53-12 in their season opener.
