NTL SWIMMING & DIVING: TOWANDA BOYS EDGE OUT LEWISBURG; TAVANI, WISE HIT DISTRICT MARKS (2023-01-28)

TOWANDA — The Towanda boys’ swim team pulled out a 63-62 win over Lewisburg during non-league action on Saturday. The Lady Knights fell 98-27.

On the boys’ side Luke Tavani (2:15.18), Nate Spencer (2:15.31), and Alex Lantz (2:17.97) went 1-2-3 in the 200 free. Tavani (59.98) also took second in the 100 free, hitting a district qualifying mark, as Sean Lauber (1:05.64) came in fourth, and Braeden Pratt (1:19.86) took sixth.


The Towanda 200 medley relay of Lauber, Spencer, Eric McGee, and Lantz took third in 2:17.25. Dan Storrs (27.56) was third in the 50 free, followed by Lauber (29.85) in fourth, and Pratt (33.68) taking seventh.


Lantz (6:11.25) was second in the 500 free as McGee (6:44.65) came in fourth. A team of Spencer, Tavani, Storrs, and Pratt were second in the 200 free relay in 1:57.41.


McGee (1:23.67) was fourth in the 100 backstroke with Spencer (1:18.99) third in the 100 breaststroke.


The foursome of Lantz, Lauber, Storrs, and Pratt took third in the 400 free relay in 4:40.67.


On the girls’ side Marisa Wise (27.82) took third as she hit a district time in the 50 free, while Jadia Lamphere (40.45) came in eighth. Wise (1:02.54) also hit district time in the 100 free, taking fourth.


Towanda’s team of Zoie Lamphere, Juliana Varner, Wise, and Jadia Lamphere took third in 2:41.67.


Varner (2:28.55) was fifth in the 200 free, with Zoie Lamphere (2:43.12) seventh. Varner (6:37.86) was fourth in the 500 free.


The girls’ 400 free relay of Varner, Jadia Lamphere, Zoie Lamphere, and Wise took fourth in 4:56.70.


Towanda will host Athens and Bloomsburg on Wednesday with a 4:30 p.m. start.
