ON TAP TODAY: A BUSY DAY OF BOYS' BASKETBALL, WRESTLING, AND SOME ACTION IN THE POOL (2023-02-02)

A boys’ basketball day with some make-up wrestling matches.

BOYS’ BASKETBALL

Troy (12-6) at Athens (12-6), 7:15 p.m.: The Trojans are coming off a tough loss at NPM, while Athens rallied to beat Wyalusing. It was a back and forth contest at the Commons Building that saw the Wildcats pull out the win late.

Wyalusing (3-15) at Towanda (8-9), 7:15 p.m.: The two teams are coming off tough losses, with the Knights falling to Wellsboro at home, while the Rams losing to Athens after leading in the fourth quarter. Towanda won the first match-up, but Blake Morningstar didn’t play in that game.

Canton (9-8) at CV (8-11), 7:15 p.m.: The Warriors are tied atop the Small School standings and a win here will keep them there. CV has always been a tough place to play, and are also playing for a home district game.

Williamson (2-16) at NEB (7-8), 7 p.m.: It’s senior night for NEB as they look to get the season sweep on the Warriors. The Panthers currently hold the eighth spot in the district standings, and a win here would go a long ways towards helping them keep it.

WRESTLING

NPL at Canton, 7 p.m.: The Warriors wrap up NTL dual meet action, and a possible fourth straight title, tonight against the Mounties. Canton is coming off a win over Milton in district duals, while NPL fell to Montoursville.

Troy at Jersey Shore, 7 p.m.: The Trojans wrap up their dual meet season at Jersey Shore on Thursday. A win here would give Troy a .500 record for the year, while Jersey Shore is gearing up for the Class AAA District IV Duals Tournament on Saturday.

SWIMMING & DIVING

Danville, Athens at Towanda, 4:30 p.m.: The Knights host a second straight meet for the week, as the boys are coming off a win over Bloomsburg.
