NTL SWIMMING & DIVING: TOWANDA HOSTS ATHENS FOR TRI-MEET WITH SHAMOKIN (2021-01-14)

TOWANDA — Towanda hosted Athens for an NTL swim meet, Thursday, while Shamokin competed virtually.

Shamokin actually swam at their place on Wednesday. The three teams will then merge the times to find out winners, both individually and team wise.


Right now these are the times and places between just Athens and Towanda and not the official places, yet, though these are the official times.


For the girls’ Towanda’s 200 medley relay of Ava Gannon, Jordan Hartmann, Juliana Varner and Abby Locke was second in 2:39.36.


Towanda’s Varner (29.41) won the 50 free with teammate Emily Darone (37.08) fourth while Sidney Bride (42.58) took sixth.


Varner (1:07.11) won the 100 free as well, with Gannon (1:09.82) third with Hartmann (1:28.39) sixth.


Towanda’s Zoie Lamphere (7:22.53) was third in the 500 free.


Towanda’s 200 free relay of Gannon, Locke, Lamphere and Varner (2:08.14) won.


Darone (1:48.97) was second in the 100 backstroke whole Bride (2:00.71) took fourth.


Locke (1:34.83) was third in the 100 breaststroke while Hartmann (1:47.24) came in fourth.


Gannon, Lamphere, Darone and Bride (5:48.76) were third in the 400 free relay.


On the boys’ side Towanda’s team of Jaden Wise, Nate Spencer, Joey Donovan and Eric McGee was second in the 200 medley relay in 2:21.98.


Spencer (2:41.49) was second in the 200 free as Luke Tavani (2:41.85) took third.


Donovan (30.40) and McGee (31.12) went second and third in the 50 free as Place (34.28) was sixth.


Donovan (139.15) won the diving with Place (88.35) second.


Wise (56.56) was second in the 100 free while Tavani (7:04.83) won the 500 free.


Wise (1:12.65) won the 100 backstroke with McGee (1:28.71) fourth. Spencer 91:35.59) was second in the 100 breaststroke.


Towanda will travel to Athens on Tuesday for a dual meet between the two teams.
