Northern Tier Sports Report
TIOGA JUNCTION — Troy’s Ty Barrett went off the first time this season, netting 30 points, as the Trojans defeated Williamson 80-27 in NTL Division-I boys’ basketball action Friday.

Nick Williams chipped in with 20 points as Mason Imbt added nine and Jake Deitrick scored seven.

Ethan VanNoy, Jeff Busch, Jackson Taylor and Trevon Teribury had three points apiece with Devin Selleck rounding things out with two.

The Trojans came storming out of the gates as they scored 34 first quarter points to take a 34-10 lead. Williams had 17 of his 20 points in the quarter, including four 3-pointers, while Barrett had nine.

Barrett would get the bulk of his points in the third quarter as he netted 13 of the team's 22 points to help them pull away.

Troy hit 11 3-pointers in all - Williams netted five of them - and went 15-for-18 from the free throw line to secure the win to move to 2-0.

Defensively, Troy held the Warriors to just two second quarter points and 17 over the final three quarters.

The Trojans are in action again on Monday as they host Northwest with a normal 7:30 p.m. start.
