NTL GIRLS' BASKETBALL: MANCHESTER LEADS TOWANDA TO WIN OVER NP-LIBERTY (2021-01-16)

TOWANDA — Paige Manchester had quite the stat line in Towanda’s 59-21 win over North Penn-Liberty during NTL Division-II girls’ basketball action Saturday.

Manchester finished with 19 points, six steals, five boards and five assists, all in three quarters of work. She also had four 3-pointers during the contest.


The Black Knights blew the doors open in the first quarter, going up 27-9 as Manchester had 10 points with Erin Barrett adding six.


Towanda added a 20 point second quarter, sparked by six from Porschia Bennett, take a 30 points halftime lead, 47-17.


Gracie Schoonover also hit double figures in the game with 10 points to go with five boards, while Bennett had eight points, five assists, four rebounds and two steals.


Barrett finished with the six points plus five boards while Amanda Horton, Bella Hurley, Kenadie Packard and Ally Hurley had four points apiece. Horton also had five steals in the contest.


Eva Rice led NPL with nine points in their season opener.


Towanda now sits 2-0 and will travel to NEB (3-1) on Monday in a match-up of the two defending NTL divisional champions. The game tips off at 6 p.m.
