NTL BOYS' BASKETBALL: PARKER LEADS TOWANDA PAST CV (2021-01-23)

TOWANDA — Nate Parker had 27 points as Towanda shrugged off a slow start to beat Cowanesque Valley 57-42 in NTL boys’ basketball action Saturday.

Parker was 8-for-9 from the free throw line and hit five 3-pointers to lead the Knights while Logan Lambert added eight points, including two 3-pointers.


Dante Ottaviani and Trent Kithcart had six points apiece with Kolby Hoffman and Mason Hartmann scoring two points each. Octavious Chacona finished with one point.


CV led 11-5 after the first quarter behind two 3-pointers from Tucker St. Peter. In the second quarter, though, Parker got hot, scoring nine points as six different Knights got a field goal, to give Towanda a 24-19 lead.


Ben Cooper’s seven points helped CV keep pace.


In the third Parker continued his hot hand, scoring 11 points to lead the Knight attack, as they netted 15. CV kept pace behind five points from McGuire Painter, but still found themselves down 39-33 with a quarter to go.


In the fourth seven different Knights scored as they went 7-for-10 from the line to pull away for the win. They held the Indians to just nine points amid two field goals.


Cooper led CV with 16 points as. St. Peter netted 13.


Towanda (2-2) is slated to host Canton next Tuesday.
