NTL GOLF: TOWANDA GIRLS JUST MISS CUT OFF TO ADVANCE AT DISTRICT TEAM CHAMPIONSHIPS (2024-09-25)
Northern Tier Sports ReportMONTGOMERY — The Towanda girls’ golf team just missed the cut off to advance to the sub-regional at the District IV, Class AA Team Championships Wednesday.
The Lady Knights needed to break 300 strokes, and finished with 325 as the only team in the field for their class, claiming the District IV, Class AA Girls title.
“The girls were amazing today,” said coach Paul Lantz. “Clara Glantz and Rosie Glantz posted their personal best scores while Izzy Repsher was only two shots off her PR. Payton Perry was our fourth scorer today. Unfortunately, Magnolia Glantz wasn’t able to play today due to an injury.”
The four some had some of their best scores of the season as Izzy Repsher and Clara Glantz both shot 108 to lead Towanda while Rosie Glantz carded a 109. Payton Perry rounded out the team with 117.
“I am extremely proud of our boys and girls teams,” continued Lantz. “On a less than perfect weather day, our players really shined. Both teams posted a season best 18 hole team score with the girls capturing our first district championship. I can’t say enough good things about them. They have all worked hard and continued to improve throughout the season. They are a great bunch of kids who love the game of golf. They are extremely competitive but are always encouraging each other.”
