NTL CROSS-COUNTRY: LARSON EARNS TOP FIVE FINISH FOR TOWANDA AT BLOOMSBURG INVITE (2024-09-28)

BLOOMSBURG — Izzy Larson had a top five finish to lead the Towanda girls’ to a team five team finish at the Bloomsburg Invitational Saturday.

Larson was fourth in 19:25.4 while the Lady Knights were fourth as a team with 183-points. Danville (42) won followed by St. Mary’s Area (104) and Hazleton (178).


Mary-Kate Eberlin (21:06.2) was 25th, Kenzie Brown (21:45.4) came in 31st, Hannah Pretty (24:10) was 80th, and Angie Tavani (24:31.5) rounded out the top five in 86th.


The varsity boys finished sixth overall with 200 points, while Hughesville (88) won.


Boom Thompson (17:33.3) was the highest finishing freshman in the race in 29th to lead the Knights with Jack Tavani (17:57.4) coming in 37th. 


Jacob Carr (18:01.3) was 40th, Hagen Jones (18:09) took 44th, and Quentin Little (19:04) rounded out the top five in 77th. 


Towanda was second in junior high boys’ action with 96 points behind Emmett Klees (10:14.20) taking first. Also in the top 10 were Brayden Cox (10:45) in eighth, and Wyatt Jones (10:45.4) taking ninth.


On the girls’ side Maris Cobb (11:24.3) brought home the title for Towanda. The Lady Knights were 18th with 421 places.
