NTL BOYS' BASKETBALL: COBB, WAY LEAD WYALUSING PAST TOWANDA (2021-02-23)

WYALUSING — Isaiah Way and Grayden Cobb combined for 45 points as Wyalusing defeated Towanda 79-41 in NTL boys’ basketball action Tuesday.

Cobb finished with 25 points - including seven 3-pointers - four assists and two steals as Way had 20 points, five boards and two steals.


Blake Morningstar netted 13 points to go with six rebounds and two steals as Abram Bennett had 12 points, four boards, four assists and five steals.


Mitchell Burke finished with five points, five rebounds, three assists and three steals, while Kashawn Cameron had four points and three boards.


Kolby Hoffman led Towanda with 18 points as Elias Shrawder netted six. Ethan Sparrow chipped in with five points as Dante Ottaviani and Mason Hartmann had four points each.


Octavious Chacona netted three points as Austin Fowler scored one.


The Rams jumped out to a 27-6 first quarter lead behind 16 from Cobb and eight from Way. After a 22-point second quarter Wyalusing led 49-14. 


Cobb had six points behind two 3-pointers as Morningstar netted seven points. Hoffman led Towanda with six points in the first half.


Towanda found some offense in the third quarter with a 15 point effort, behind seven points from Hoffman. The Rams stayed hot, though, scoring 18 in the quarter as Bennett and Way had six points apiece, for a 67-29 lead.


Both teams had 12 points each in the fourth.


Towanda did win the JV contest 48-40 in overtime. Teagan Irish led the Knights with 15 points as Owen Clark netted 12. Morningstar had 22 for the Rams.
