NTL BOYS' BASKETBALL: TROY ROLLS PAST ATHENS (2025-01-09)

TROY — Lincoln Chimics hit four 3-pointer, and Jack Burbage had a double-double as Troy rolled to another NTL boys’ basketball win, beating Athens 58-23 Thursday.

The Trojans jumped out to a 19-4 first quarter lead, and extended that advantage to 36-12 at the half. An 18-point third quarter secured the win for Troy.

Lincoln Chimics had 16 points, six boards, and three steals to lead Troy, as Jack Burbage added 12 points, 11 boards, three assists, and three steals. Trey Teribury chipped in with 12 points, as well.

Joseph Frye notched eight points, seven rebounds, three assists, and three steals, with Evan Woodward getting three points, six assists, and four steals.

Spencer Martin had three points, and two steals, with Joey Lackey and Eason Teribury chipping in with two points apiece.

Frye hit two 3-pointers in the first quarter to pace Troy’s big opening frame, while Chimics netted two in the second. 

Burbage led the team in the third, scoring eight points, with Chimics adding two more triples. The Trojans finished with eight 3-pointers as a team.

Troy (7-2) hosts Canton on Saturday with a 7 p.m. start.
