NTL BOYS' BASKETBALL: TOWANDA FALLS TO WELLSBORO IN SEASON FINALE (2021-02-27)

WELLSBORO — Towanda lost to Wellsboro 68-39 in their season finale during NTL boys’ basketball action Saturday.

It was the sixth game in six days for the Knights.

Kolby Hoffman finished with 11 points for the Knights as Elias Shrawder scored eight. 

Ethan Sparrow had six, Octavious Chacona notched five, Mason Hartmann came away with four, Dante Ottaviani notched three and Logan Lambert chipped in with two points.

Peyton McClure led Wellsboro with 18 points on six 3-pointers, as Liam Manning scored 16 and Isaac Keane netted 13.

Conner Adams and Hayes Campbell had six points apiece, Drew Manning scored four, Cameron Brought notched three and Ryan Sweet came away with two.

Wellsboro jumped out to a 23-12 first quarter lead as McClure hit three 3-pointers for nine points as Keane netted six. Hoffman scored eight to lead the Knights.

The Hornets pushed their advantage to 44-20 at the half as McClure hit two more 3-pointers to go with Liam’s six points.

Wellsboro then went on to out score Towanda 24-19 in the second half. The Knights did hit four 3-pointers over the final two quarters, led by Sparrow’s two.

The Hornets won the JV game 48-45 as Brought netted 23 points. Shrawder scored 26 for Towanda.
