NTL WRESTLING: WYALUSING'S HUNSINGER GOES 1-1 TO ADVANCE TO SECOND DAY OF STATES (2025-03-06)
BY CHRIS MANNINGNorthern Tier Sports ReportHERSHEY — Wyalusing’s Ayden Hunsinger had a good start at the PIAA, Class AA Wrestling Championships Thursday, but then ran into a tough kid in the opening round, finishing 1-1 on the day to stay alive.
“It felt good getting off to a good start,” Hunsinger said. “I had a tough second match, and just ready to get back at it again tomorrow.”
Hunsinger (152) was dominant in his 15-0 tech fall over Laurel’s Braxton Carr in 4:00 in the preliminaries.
He opened with a takedowns and back points to go up 7-0 after one. He got another takedown, followed by two back points in the second.
Carr then tried to roll through Hunsinger’s grip, but he caught him and took him to his back for the tech fall.
Hunsinger then lost to Bishop McCort’s Devon Magro by a 15-0 tech fall, in the opening round match.
He’ll face Brockway’s Parker Pisarchick in the second round of consolations Friday morning.
