NTL CROSS-COUNTRY: CANTON BOYS EDGE WYALUSING BY 1-POINT (September 2, 2025)
Northern Tier Sports ReportWYALUSING — The Canton boys’ cross-country team edged Wyalusing by one point during NTL dual meet action Tuesday.
The Warriors won 27-28 as both teams beat NP-Mansfield, with Canton winning 25-32, and Wyalusing winning 25-31.
Canton’s Lawrence Halbfoerster (17:13) won the race with NPM’s James Knefley (17:50) second.
Wyalusing’s Aidan Neiley (18:21) was third while Canton’s Manuel Halbfoerster (19:43) took fourth.
The key spot was Canton’s Landon Lake (21:00) edging Wyalusing’s Cody Tuttle (21:03) at the line for sixth.
Rams Parker Cunningham (21:25) and Griffin Sheldon (21:37) were eighth and ninth, while Tyler Caplan (21:49) came in 11th.
For Canton Nick Weaver (23:53) was 12th, as Chase Petrowski (24:56) finished 14th.
On the girls’ side NP-Mansfield beat Wyalusing 20-37 as they took four of the top five spots. Jaycee Fairchild (22:21) led the way with the win.
Wyalusing’s Riley Porter (24:53) was third to lead the Rams as Megan King (25:53) came in sixth. Camryn Gesford (26:12) took seventh, Ireland Coats (27:04) was 10th, and Marcy Gowin (27:06) finished 11th.
Canton’s Kathryn Wile (32:01) took 12th.
In junior high boys’ action Wyalusing won 22-33 over NPM. Caleb King (11:46) won for the Rams.
On the girls’ side Canton edged NP-Mansfield 27-28. Wyalusing’s Reese Patrick (13:06) won the race.
