NTL CROSS-COUNTRY: SULLIVAN EDGES WYALUSING, CLAIMS BOYS AND GIRLS SMALL SCHOOL TITLES (October 1, 2025)

LAPORTE — The Sullivan County Griffins brought home two NTL Small School cross-country titles on Tuesday as they swept Wyalusing and Sayre.

This is the girls’ first league title in program history, while the boys last won the NTL title back in 2006. They had won a PHAC title in 2009.

On the boys’ side the Griffins held off Wyalusing (26-30) as both teams beat Sayre 15-50.

Wyalusing’s Aidan Neiley (18:53) won the race followed by Sullivan’s Calen Sweigart (19:00), Carter Blasi (19:14), and Chase Preston (19:47).

The Rams took the next three spots with Griffins Sheldon (20:25), Cody Tuttle (20:25), and Tyler Caplan (20:40).

Brayden Fitzgerald (20:44) was eighth for Sullivan, with Andrew Kapec (21:03) taking ninth to secure the win.

Riley Price (25:15) took 12th as Wyalusing’s final scoring runner.

On the girls’ side Sullivan defeated Wyalusing 18-37.

The Griffins went 1-through-4 led by Zoey Reese (22:09). Addi Templin (22:42) was second, Paige Jordan (24:07) took third, and Addie Thibodeault (24:17) came in fourth.

Wyalusing’s Megan King (24:50) was fifth, followed by teammate Camryn Gesford (26:06) and Riley Porter (26:39).

Emily Guare (27:18) rounded out Sullivan’s scorers in eighth place.

For the Rams Ireland Coates (27:25) was ninth, and Mackenna Brewer (36:42) took 10th.

In junior high boys’ action Sullivan beat Wyalusing 25-34 with beat teams beating Sayre 15-50.

Wyalusing’s Caleb King (11:21) won the boys’ race with Sullivan’s Seth Sweigart (11:22) in second.

On the girls’ side Sullivan won over Wyalusing 20-35.

Wyalusing’s Reese Patrick (12:26) won the girls’ race as Sullivan’s Lydia Lantz (13:20) was second.
