NTL TRACK & FIELD: TOWANDA HAS THREE ATHLETES COMPETE AT PIAA CHAMPIONSHIPS SATURDAY (2026-05-23)

Northern Tier Sports Report
SHIPPENSBURG — Towanda had three athletes compete at the PIAA Track and Field Championships on Saturday.

Maris Cobb, Marin Maynard, and Emmett Klees were all in competition during the morning session.

The senior Maynard took 13th in the pole vault at 10-feet even. She made the first two tries - 9-feet, 6-inches and 10-feet - but needed all three attempts to get them.

Maynard wouldn't quite make it over 10-feet, 6-inches, which would have gotten her on the podium.

Due to the cold rain the pole vault was done in the Shippensburg gym.

While Maynard was vaulting Cobb and Klees were running the 3200.

Cobb took 14th in the Class AA girls field in 11:33.64. She was consistent, starting out in 16th, moving up to 15th, then jumping one more position on the final lap.

In the Class AA boys race Klees ran 9:52.03 to take 24th. He was as high as 12th after lap one but then slowly fell back.

Klees was the highest finishing freshman in the field.
