NTL VOLLEYBALL: TOWANDA GUTS OUT 3-2 WIN OVER WELLSBORO TO CLINCH PLAYOFF BERTH (2025-10-21)

Northern Tier Sports Report
WELLSBORO — Towanda volleyball seemed determined to do two things year - make the playoffs, and do so by the most difficult way imaginable. In their regular season finale they needed to beat the defending district champions in Wellsboro at the Hornet’s Nest, and came away the victors, 3-2.

“What an amazing night of volleyball,” said Towanda coach Cassie Smith. “It was such a competitive game on both sides of the net. The energy was electric, and our girls played with all their heart tonight. They have worked so hard to reach this goal of getting to the post-season, and I can’t wait to see what they accomplish next. They truly worked together as a team and their defensive effort got them this big win. Lariah had quite a few huge digs in key moments to keep the rally alive. Bryn and Caedence also did a great job putting the ball in Karis’s hands. Karis was able to run the offense well thanks to the defense. Brooklyn, Lariah, Addy, Kaya, and Alayna all did their jobs at the net. Even our bench was sure to give the 6 on the court encouragement in a tough environment. All the way around, it was an exciting night of volleyball, and I’m honored I get to watch these girls go after their goals the way they did tonight. We will celebrate this win tonight, but we can’t wait for what’s next.”
