Northern Tier Sports ReportMONTOURSVILLE — Towanda volleyball kept their season going Friday as they rolled past Montoursville, 3-0, in the District IV, Class AA play in game.
The Knights won the sets 25-13, 25-10, and 25-11.
“It was a great win for the team,” said Towanda coach Cassie Smith. “They played clean and executed skills. We love having this opportunity to play in the post season, and the girls are doing a nice job of tackling this busy week head on. Last night we didn’t even have confirmation of a game time or opponent until later in the evening, so being able to get a big win on the road is huge.”
Karis Flynn had 25 assists, 14 points, five aces, six dig, and two kills, as Brooklyn Evans notched 10 kills, one block, three points, one ace, and two digs.
Brynsen Vargason had 11 digs, 13 points, and seven aces, as Caedence Wells notched 13 points, four aces, and five digs.
Lariah Long had nine digs, seven kills, three points, and one ace, with Lily-Ann Sproule getting two digs, one kill, one block, two points, and an ace.
Addy Barrett notched four kills, one block, three points, and two aces, with Kaya Johnson getting three kills, and Alayna Rankin adding two.
Towanda will take on the top seed Troy during the quarterfinals on Saturday at Athens with a 4 p.m. start.
“Tomorrow we will have our fourth match this week, and we honestly can’t wait,” said Smith.
