Troy senior Brendan Gilliland had a game for the ages to put the Trojans back in the District 4 championship game, while Corning senior Olivia Martinec punched her ticket to the N.Y. TROY'S GILLILAND NAMED ZIFF LAW FIRM BOYS REGIONAL 'ATHLETES OF THE WEEK'
Gilliland accounted for five rushing TDs to lead defending state champion Troy to a 48-34 win over Warrior Run in the District 4, Class AA semifinals.
Gilliland ran for 330 yards on 21 carries, scoring on runs of 6, 39, 26, 96, and 18 yards.

CORNING'S MARTINEC NAMED ZIFF LAW FIRM GIRLS REGIONAL 'ATHLETES OF THE WEEK'
Martinec qualified for States by finishing second in the Section IV, Class A Cross-Country Championships.
Martinec's time of 19:34.5 was not only second in Class A, but was second in the all classes — nearly 14 seconds faster than the third-fastest time.
