TOWANDA — Towanda’s Caedence Wells will be playing for Juniata softball at the next level after signing with Eagles on Monday.

“It feels really good to make a decision like this, and knowing that I can play at the next level,” Wells said.

She really liked the campus, along with the town of Huntingdon, which she compared to Towanda.

“The campus is super welcoming,” remarked Wells. “Everybody on campus welcomed me with open arms no matter the circumstances, and I went down, and I had overnight with the team. The girls were super honest about everything, and so that’s really what made my decision.”

She also looked a joining up with her former pitcher at Messiah in Shaylee Greenland, but opted for Juniata. That means they could be facing each other at some point in their careers.

“I really would love to have played with her again,” Wells said. “It’s going to be tough (to play against her), but I still love her.”

Wells plans on working on softball all winter to get ready for Juniata, but first she and her Towanda teammates will be looking to make some noise this spring.

“I really hope to make it to districts again, and hopefully win a district title this year,” she said.

Her major is exercise science and Kinesiology.
