Northern Tier Sports Report
Winter Sports season is here as most teams get going this week with non-league games, tournaments, and invitationals.

WRESTLING
Wednesday, December 3

Montgomery at Wyalusing, 7 p.m.: The Rams open with a tough one as Montgomery is expected to be one of the toughest teams in District IV this season.

Thursday, December 4
NEB at Montrose, 7 p.m.: The Panthers hit the road for a non-league contest against the Meteors.

Saturday, December 6
Wyalusing hosts Gary Woodruff Duals, 9 a.m.: The Rams get their season going in earnest as they welcome teams from District IV and District II for their annual duals tournament.

BOYS’ BASKETBALL
Monday, December 1

NEB at Blue Ridge, 7 p.m.: The Panthers get the winter sports season going with a non-league triple to the Red Raiders.

Tuesday, December 2
South Williamsport at Canton, 7 p.m.: The Warriors open the season at home against the always tough Mountaineers.

Wyalusing at Susquehanna, 6:45 p.m.:
The Rams hit the road to take on the Sabres as they open the season.

Thursday, December 4
Elk Lake at Wyalusing, 7 p.m.: The Rams’ second District II opponent to start the season as they bring in their neighbors for their home opener.

Friday, December 5

NEB vs Meadowbrook Christian at Montgomery Tournament, 5 p.m.: The Panthers head south for their annual trip to the Montgomery tournament. 

Montrose at Towanda, 7 p.m.: The Knights host the Meteors, which as become an annual staple, to tip-off their season.

Canton at Galeton Tournament: The Warriors head west as they make their annual trip to the Galeton tournament.

Troy vs Muncy at Sullivan County Tournament, 6 p.m.: The always tough Sullivan tournament awaits Troy. They had to skip it last year due to the football team playing in the state final.

Saturday, December 6
NEB at Montgomery Tournament: The Panthers finish up play down at Montgomery.

Canton at Galeton Tournament: The Warriors finish up their play down at Galeton.

Troy at Sullivan County Tournament: Troy heads back to Laporte to finish up the tournament.

GIRLS’ BASKETBALL
Friday, December 5

NEB at Blue Ridge, 6:45 p.m.: The Panthers head east to take on the Red Raiders as they open their season.

Canton vs Sullivan County at NPL Tournament: The Warriors open the season against the Griffins at the annual NPL Tournament.

Saturday, December 6

Troy at Central Columbia, 1 p.m.: The Trojans travel to the always tough Blue Jays, a contest that wasn’t decided until overtime last year.

Wyalusing at Shamokin, 1:30 p.m.:
The Rams hit the road as they face a tough Shamokin squad.

Towanda at Loyalsock, 1 p.m.: The Black Knights open with the defending state champions, a team they lost to twice last season.

Canton at NPL Tournament: The Warriors finish up play at NPL.

Saturday, December 6

NEB at Jarvis Tournament: The Lady Panthers head to Athens for the annual Jarvis Tournament.

SWIMMING & DIVING
Saturday, December 7

Towanda at Shamokin, 11 a.m.: The Knights head south to open the season at Shamokin.
