Northern Tier Sports ReportATHENS — The Towanda boys split at their tri-meet at Athens on Thursday during swimming and diving action.
They beat Wellsboro (72-52) but fell to the Wildcats (99-50).
On the girls’ side they lost to Athens (92-8) and Wellsboro (62-8).
For the boys Nolan Deacon won the 200 free in (2:12.24) with teammates Kenneth Carle (2:28.90) and Xander Pratt (2:45.08) fifth and sixth.
Shane Maghamez (26.53) was third in the 50 free followed by Lake Strickland (27.54), and Nathan Little (34.91). Nick Post swam 29.96 in exhibition.
Strickland (1:02.93) was fourth in the 100 free as Andrew Manley (1:10.16) came in sixth, with Little (1:22.18) in eighth. Cooper Chamberlain (1:22.49) swam exhibition.
Pratt (7:38.59) was second in the 500 free, while Deacon (1:10.68) was second in the 100 backstroke. Maghamez (1:12.74) came in third, with Curtis Carter (1:30.90) taking sixth.
Manley (1:30.36), and Matthew Weinman (1:35.77) were fourth and fifth in the 100 breaststroke.
For relays the 200 medley relay of Maghamez, Manley, Carle, and Post was third in 2:11.36.
The 200 free relay of Deacon, Manley, Strickland, and Carter took third in 1:54.25, while the foursome of Little, Chamberlain, Post, and Weinman was fifth in 2:11.91.
The foursome of Strickland, Pratt, Weinman, and Carter was third in the 400 free relay in 4:50.46, as the foursome of Deacon, Maghamez, Little, and Chamberlain took fourth in 5:04.17.
On the girls’ side Reagan Deacon (3:24.14) was third in the 200 IM, and third in the 100 breaststroke (1:38.73).
Swimming as an independent, NEB’s Eliana Mihalek swam 1:46.10 in the 100 breaststroke, and 1:23.72 in the 100 free.
