Northern Tier Sports ReportCANTON — Canton girls’ hoops jumped out to a 26-0 first quarter lead and never looked back as they routed CV, 44-18, during NTL girls’ hoops Friday.
Cailyn Van Noy had 19 points, four assists, and three steals for the Warriors with Stella Rockwell scoring six points.
Alexis McRoberts added five points, four boards, and six steals, as Lydia Roupp made her first appearance of the season, finishing with four points, and nine rebounds.
Daveian Crowley had four points, and five boards, as Danah Wesnski, and Cheyenne Fitch scored two points apiece. Wesneski also had three assists, with two steals.
Van Noy had four 3-balls on the day, three of them in the first quarter as she had 13 points in the opening frame for the Warriors.
They cooled off in the second quarter, netting just four points, but led 30-2 at the half.
Van Noy got hot again in the third, scoring six of her team’s nine points as they took a 39-11 lead into the final frame.
CV had their best quarter yet in the fourth, out scoring Canton 7-5.
Canton won the JV game, 46-16, behind nine points from Amelia Pepper.
Canton (4-1) will host NP-Mansfield on Monday with a 7:30 p.m. start.
