NTL GIRLS' BASKETBALL: WOODWARD LEADS TROY PAST JERSEY SHORE (2025-12-20)

JERSEY SHORE — The Troy girls’ basketball team won their third game in four days as they edged Jersey Shore, 41-36, during non-league action Saturday.

The Trojans led 18-14 after one, with the Bulldogs cutting it to 25-22 at the break.

An 11-5 third quarter in favor of Troy put them in control, 36-27, but Jersey Shore held them to five points in the final frame as they mounted a comeback, though it fell short.

Raelynne Woodward had 19 points to lead Troy as Kyah Renzo netted 13. 

Giana Renzi scored four, Emma Mickley notched three, and Izzy Renzi chipped in with two.

Gracelyn Frantz had 12 for Jersey Shore with Avery Dessgua netting 10.

Woodward had the hot hand early for Troy with eight points in the opening frame as Renzo netted five.

Woodward would hit all three of Troy’s second quarter buckets, as well.

In the third Renzo took over, scoring six of her team’s 11 points.

For the fourth both teams had just two field goals apiece.

Troy (5-1) is off until the Josh Palmer Tournament after Christmas.
