Northern Tier Sports ReportThe Towanda Black Knights Wrestling Program will host the Central Columbia Blue Jays on Tuesday, December 23, in what promises to be a historic and exciting day for Towanda athletics.
Competition will begin with Jr. High wrestling at 2pm, followed by girl’s varsity at 3pm. Prior to 4pm boys varsity match, the Black Knights will pause to honor and induct four members of the Class of 2025 into the prestigious Knights of 100, recognizing their achievements and contributions to the program.
With a victory over Central Columbia, Head Coach Bill Sexton will break the Pennsylvania State record for career wins, marking an extraordinary milestone in a career defined by excellence, leadership, and dedication to student-athletes. Coach Sexton currently is tied with long time Ridley Coach Carl Schnellenbach with 767 wins.
Coach Sexton’s influence extends far beyond the mat, having shaped generations of student-athletes through discipline, sportsmanship, and a commitment to hard work that defines the Towanda Wrestling tradition.
