Northern Tier Sports ReportHUGHESVILLE — Towanda bounced back from their first loss of the season to roll past Montgomery, 70-33 during the consolation game of the Hughesville Tournament in boys’ hoops action Tuesday.
Markell Garner, who was named to the All-tournament team, had 12 points for the Knights, with Landon Clark netting 13 to lead Towanda.
Boom Thompson, and Lucas Vincent both scored 12, as Darrius Farrell had eight points.
Graham Welles netted six, with Josh Maye scoring four, and Keegan Stroud adding three.
Parker Bennett had 21 to lead Montgomery.
Towanda jumped out to a 19-11 lead behind seven points from Clark. They tacked on 26 more points in the second as seven different players scored - led by Thompson’s eight points.
Up 45-22 going into the third they added 19 more to secure the win behind five from Vincent.
Towanda (7-1) will host Sullivan County on Saturday with a 2:30 p.m. varsity start.
