Northern Tier Sports ReportLANCASTER — Canton’s Blaine Wesneski brought home a silver medal from the Turner Holiday Classic this past weekend.
Wesneski (172) went 4-1 overall, winning his first four matches by fall before losing 17-11 to CV’s Teagan Ruble in the title bout.
Tommy Preston (145), and Levi Vermilya (107) also reached the medal podium.
Preston went 5-2 to take seventh, winning his final medal match 7-2. He had three tech falls, and a 10-0 major decision in the blood round to get the podium.
Vermilya went 3-3 to take eighth opening with two falls, then getting a 16-2 major decision in the blood round to get into the medals.
Carson Rockwell (160) went 2-2 to just miss the medal around, along with Leland Pepper (189), who went 3-2.
Gavin Sharp (139) went 2-2, as Owen Moore (139) was 1-2. Carson Castle (114), Grant Jennings (152), Henry Proseus (133), Link Vermilya (127), and Uriah Talada (285) all went 0-2.
